[fall] mini session event

I had my first stab at a [fall] mini session event about a week and a half ago. I had so much fun and hope to do more of these in 2010. It was a chilly Sunday, but not cold. We dodged the rain and the kids really loved the homemade chocolate chip cookies and hot cocoa. It sort-of started getting me into the holiday spirit (despite all the time I have spent behind my lens and in font of my computer screen lately).

On to the photos. I had 6 families come that day. I have 4 sessions edited and will get the last 2 done later today - promise :)

1st Family - Keller
This bunch are good friends -- Grace and Briar have been in preschool, soccer, camps and play together a lot. Jack and Nikolai have been in preschool and hockey together. Carrie and I have gotten to know each other super well too. She even convinced me to do my first duathlon (Iron Girl) this past September. I have taken their photos a number of times, seems like I see them every other month or so :)

aren't they cute?

2nd Family - Simpson
Another family we have gotten to know up at the rink. Mable (the youngest) and Briar play on the same hockey team this year and Dan (the dad) and (my husband) Brian are their coaches. Joe and Nikolai have been on the ice together a lot in the past years as well. Emma is quite the hockey star too.

I love the idea of having them bring their sticks and gloves, it's who they are!

3rd Family - Dosek
This crazy family lives up the street from us. Seriously, they are just the sweetest people, we honestly live in the best neighborhood. The kids did so well and we got some great shots.

LOVE the kissing photo :)

4th family - Olson
I took Lauren's photos this summer (she has the most beautiful brown eyes) she took awhile to warm up to me then, and again on this day, but we got some great photos. We even had some snuggles with mommy's tummy (or the baby inside). She is going to be the best big sister!

Love her coat, it was perfect for the location and the orange chair.

2 more sessions to come :)
