Just wanted everyone to know I am still here.

Fall has really kicked my fanny (for many reasons) this year and I haven't had a ton of time to keep up on this thing called my photography blog. I promise in the next few weeks as my {crazy} busy season winds down, I will catch everyone up on the over 50 beautiful families, seniors, babies, products, etc. I have photographed this fall.

Until then keep in touch and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having, unfortunately it is coming to an end. For me, that means snow and hockey rinks are in my future... how about you?

Urban Mini Session Saturday September 17th | Minneapolis Family Photographer

Urban Mini Event on SEPTEMBER 17th around the Grain Belt Brewery in Minneapolis.

*photos are from families who made it out last fall. It's an awesome location (lots of new stuff and ideas this year!)

Three (3) sessions remaining

11:45am • 12:30pm • 1:15pm

Mini Session Event Details:

Session Fee is $275.00 (upto 5 subjects — for each additional child/parent add $25).

The session will last 30 minutes. After the session I will narrow down the images and upload the UN-EDITED images to a password protected gallery. You then can choose 12 images for me to hand retouch and edit (you’ll receive a color and black & white option of each image). Two weeks after you choose, you will receive the 12 retouched and hand edited images on a CD with reprinting rights, smaller watermarked versions of your photos for use online and social media, as well as one 5x7 print of each of image.

I will only be shooting FULL SESSIONS in November (NO MINI SESSION EVENTS) and will only be doing Newborn Sessions between November 21st and the first of the year.

Here are the details for my Mini Session and Studio Mini Session Events

Mini Session Event $275.00

Times and locations are predetermined and are for upto 5 subjects (for each additional child/parent add $25). The session will last 30 minutes. Back in May I found this MAGICAL spot down the road from my house, I knew it would have beautiful lighting as the sun began to set. So one evening my friend, Jenay (www.jumpphotos.net) and I had an impromptu session with our kids. Here are some of the images we took of my three. They actually cooperated (no fighting, no yelling, limited stress on my end) for us, and I was thrilled. I just don't get time to take picture of my own kids. LOVE THEM!

Quite a few favs's from this session with these 2 boys. Usually boys are NOT cooperative, but these 2 were great!

It was quite appropriate that we found a hockey net outside to take photos with.... they are both hockey players. Lucas is an AWESOME defenseman (my son Nik's defensive mate from last season) and Zach a goalie.

This post in on the larger side since these cuties hold a very special spot in my heart....

I was lucky enough this past April to spend a few days with my cousin and her family in San Diego, it had been too long. Her and I whopped it up and this midwestern girl even surfed (maybe I'll post pics of that, IF you're lucky). It was just the best trip.

Thoughts in my head today & some summer scheduling updates

As my kids are getting older (Nikolai 10, Briar 7-1/2 & Erik, aka Biggie, 5-1/2) we try so hard to slow life down and enjoy the simple things. But in the same breath I have to say that their schedules are getting more and more busy. We honestly enjoy every moment in the car driving them from activity to activity, every minute at the table doing homework, every game at the hockey rink, every evening on the soccer and baseball fields, the list goes on! We are SO BLESSED with these three children of ours and I am truly amazed everyday with them and the beautiful, amazing people the are turning into.

*just a snapshot from Easter 2011 - not the perfect photo, but it just says so much who they are right now :)

All of this are the reasons I LOVE my job as much as I do— I know all of you feel the same way about your children and your families. Even though we’d like to, we can’t freeze time, so timeless photos are what we use bring back these memories. The way they looked, the way they smelled, the way they kissed your cheek (even the way they fought and annoyed each other). I am greatful you choose me to help you preserve these memories.

This little HOBBY of mine has turned into a JOB that I L.O.V.E. and I am thankful for it. I want to thank all of my clients and friends who keep coming back and who keep referring my name, you all know who you are. My business is built on referrals and it means the world to me when I know that my FRIENDS have helped me build my business, which in turn has helped myself and my family in many ways over the past few years.

I know it seems hard to believe (with this fabulous Minnesota weather we are having) but Summer is JUST around the corner. Summers are a busy time for everyone, I have spent a good part of the past couple days trying to “organize” my summer schedule. This job and providing you all with those special timeless photos is very important to me, but my full-time job as a Wife and Mom is most important! So, I have come up with a summer session schedule that I think will work great not only for our family but give my clients a good variety of session dates and times too.

I have general session dates and times set for summer, they are Monday during the day and Tuesday evenings. Also 1-2 weekend dates a month. Please contact me and I will try my best to make a time work.

Spring is here! Well, sort-of. If you are looking to book sessions for April or May, don't hesitate— these months are almost booked.

I am finalizing Mini Session Events. Here is how they work and what I have planned so far. I've had lot's of people who had me put them on my interest list for specific months, those people will be contacted and have first dibs at the dates and times. If any of these dates and events interest you, please send me a note and I'll get you booked.

Mini Session | $250
Mini session times and locations are predetermined. They are usually held back-to-back once (maybe twice per month). They are shorter sessions (1/2 hour) and for up to 4 people (additional subjects = $15/ea). A cd containing 10 retouched and edited images from your session with reprinting rights, smaller watermarked versions of your photos for use on your computer and online (one 5x7 print of each of the photos in your gallery)

Ok -- I thought I would give a bunch of you clients, family and friends that follow my blog a little laugh to start your week off.

This post is NOT a business post of my recent photos, it's a couple pictures of me, at my first "Chicks with Sticks" practice. Many of you know that hockey is big in our family and I have always wanted to get into it so I can hang with my three kids at the rink even more (is that possible?) This was a great day for outdoor winter photos. It wasn't "too" cold, but man the snow was up past our knees in most spots. Makes for an interesting session, but the whole family was so cooperative (considering most were not from cold weather states) and we got some great shots all while singing Christmas Carols :)

The Van Asten's were my THIRD FULL family session I did on that Rainy Sunday. But once I got to down to Carver from up in Anoka, it had cleared up :) It was fun to spend time with these two and their kids, I went to good 'ol Eden Prairie High School with Denise and Jim. Liam and Keegan are two of the cutest most well behaved kids I have photographed. (Helps that I have a special spot in my heart for red heads too!)

Had to get dog Boo in some shots too— pets are part of the family!

I have to be honest and say that "extended family" sessions are not my favorite and I tend NOT to do them. I really prefer and focus on the smaller more intimate sessions. But this family I have known for some time.... Kish (aka Carrie) and I spent a lot of time on the tennis courts (and a few parties) in college and I've taken her adorable daughter Raegan's photos numerous times. So when she said her mom and dad wanted a family session, I couldn't say no.

We met in Anoka and dodged the rain the whole time (and most the time were being misted on). But everyone was great sports (even the dads) and we had a great time and captured some really special moments.
